Les moins : They no longer support remote work.

Good place to work
Les plus : I've enjoyed my time here. I have advanced quickly and the culture is good.
Les moins : Quick directional changes without much notice, but that is the environment of a start-up fintech.

A lot of work is needed
Les plus : Opportunities to work hybrid and positive coworkers.
Les moins : Work on weekends. Forced to work shifts that make work life balance hard to obtain. Managers don’t provide coaching as needed.

They no longer care about their employees.
Les plus : Good pay
There is a 5 word minimum, but there is nothing else good about Figure anymore. 1 yr ago, this review would have been a 5 star review, but they no longer care about the employees, only the money that the C-suite can make.
Les moins : No music allowed while working
No phones allowed
Barely hybrid (1 prespecified day alloted/required to wfh each week), while claiming to be "hybrid friendly"
They continuously are showing to everyone in the company that they care about money more than they do their enployees.
Monthly changes to the role and expectations, but you are still expected to remain conaistent in your performance and over achieve in order to get a promotion or bonus.
HR does not listen to feedback and are essentially parrots of the managers, literally pointless roles at this point.
C-suite does everything in their power to make it more difficult and less appealing to work there

A Company Still Ironing Out The Wrinkles
Les plus : I worked with a few team members who were always ready to assist.
Les moins : Certain managers don't know the processes as in-depth for their positions to call for and seem to point to Notion to have us figure it out ourselves while also pushing to be faster on calls.

Les moins : Fluctuations in how busy this department was

Just a number
Les plus : Paid insurance, as long as you don’t mind high co-pays.
Les moins : They don’t believe in annual reviews or raises. Been with them 2+ years while everything for basic living cost goes up, oh well CEO does not believe in cost of living raises. But don’t worry merrit increases don’t happen either as HR points at management and management points at HR and they will continue to kick down the line any review for increase. When they do get around to finally giving you a raise it’s laughable; not quite pennies but a few quarters and a dime if you’re lucky. Literally not even a percentage point of an increase. But don’t worry the CEO and all the other higher ups are definitely getting their pay increases and bonuses.
And recognition, just depends on who management likes that week/month. Those who actually have good numbers and get things done rarely, if ever, get recognized.

Room for Improvement
Les plus : Free Healthcare (love)
Free Snacks (love)
Hybrid (pro and con depending on how you look at it)
Most of the people are great and really kind
Free lunches and goodies on occasion (Marissa is so sweet and tries to take care of us)
Generally not a difficult job
Quarterly bonuses (but it seems like they’re implementing changes to this structure that could make it less attainable)
Les moins : Hybrid for a job that could really be fully remote. Office is uptown and parking is between $15/$30 A DAY, which is actually burdensome for most employees.
Many CSAs do the jobs of processors and UWs, but don’t have that title or the pay.
New policies are frequently being implemented that feel punitive, and it seems like they’re trying to find ways to make things more efficient which usually just results in making our jobs more difficult.
There is no room for advancement or growth. Unless you’re white, you probably won’t get promoted, and if you do, it’s definitely not going to be to a position of authority. There’s no diversity in management and above.
They don’t do performance based raises. Anytime someone asks about raises they say they cont. to evaluate other companies and the market for this same role to make sure they’re on par.
Your experience here as a CSA can largely depend on your manager. I’ve had great managers and one in particular who is an incessant micro manager and very critical, regardless of how hard we work and how great our performance is.
Changes are common and expected at startups, but I’ve worked for startups before and have never been somewhere that is so structurally disorganized. Most people don’t even have a solid understanding of their role.
They are often tone deaf when communicating changes that impact our daily workflow. They will follow up some arbitrary and punitive new policy announcement with something like “thank you for working so hard, we couldn’t do this without you…” but don’t ever follow that up with any action.
You can work really hard at reaching a goal or fulfilling some metric, and the goal post will be moved on you. The work-from-home incentive is an example of this.
While the work itself isn’t difficult, production goals are stressful for fulfillment and some of the new expectations for customer care make it more stressful.

Grateful
Les plus : Having spent most of my life in the workforce, I know when a company values its employees. Out of seven jobs, this is one of two that I can say that about.
-My opinions are heard and valued.
-My identity as an individual with my own thoughts, feelings, and
expressions are valued.
-What I put in to my job is returned to me and recognized.
-My coworkers are amazing individuals and teammates. I feel like
we are all pulling for a common goal.
-I am treated like an adult that can make decisions. I am not
micromanaged. If that happens to you here, there is a reason.
-100% paid for health care that is GOOD. Find me anyone these
days that pays your premiums. I'll wait.
-Always free eats & drinks in the break room, and good food like
fruit and protein. No junky vending machines in sight. Makes
sense if they are paying for your health care premiums.
-Generous time off. That they let you use.
-Good hybrid work balance.
-Promote from within.
-The work is easy if you can handle 30-60 calls a day. It's easier if
you enjoy customer service and helping people get happy about
money.
-Great swag
Les moins : None that I have found.
